Jan 06
Yet another Filipino movie remake is set for production and perhaps release this year, 2011.Mahinhin Vs Mahinhin is an upcoming 2011 pinoy comedy movie starring two Dennis Trillo and Ogie Alcasid. This time they will play gay roles in Mahinhin vs Mahinhin which isn’t actually surprising since both of them has portrayed female roles before.Dennis is Aishite Imasu and Ogie in Oh My Girl and Spoiled Brat movie.
“Pareho kaming bading diyan ni Kuya Ogie, pero siya yata, medyo loud. Ako naman, may pagka-closet pa. May girlfriend ako dito, hindi ko lang sure kung si Solenn (Heusaff) yata ang gaganap.” said actor Dennis Trillo in an interview.
This could mean that Dennis will reprise the role of Dindo Fernando while Ogie Alcasid for Ronaldo Valdez.
Here’s an 8 minute video of the 1981 film entitled “Mahinhin Vs Mahinhin”.
It is said that in the modern version of Mahinhin Vs Mahinhin they will become rivals but in the classic film they’re best friends or were they rivals from the start of the film?Well, anyway, are you excited for this film remake? i’m not excited and enough of remaking old Filipino Movies. Create you own! And the term “mahinhin” doesn’t apply to current tongues of today’s generation. The title ‘Mahinhin’ is even derived from ‘Si Malakas Si Maganda at Si Mahinhin’ which is the first film of this 2 ‘Mahinhin’ film series.
Maybe Mahinhin vs Mahinhin is forgotten is a simple story of two gays competing for one man but 1981 film Mahinhin vs Mahinhin is not just a movie but a work of a genius – Danny Zialcita. I watched this film over and over again and it is intelligent. The lines, the scene flow, Dindo and Ronaldo – everything – is so witty, that it’s better not to have a remake. Kasi MABABABOY.
like Joey Gosiengfiao’s Temptation Island
and to everyone fear (rumored to be remake)
Ishmael Bernal’s Himala.
Why remake this film? Is it because it’s forgotten and the current generation is not familiar with the original movie? If the original is available in the tv cables and stores and not rarely seen, they would not dare, because nothing beats the original.
Let’s release the original too the day they release the remake. And let’s see.
