Vhong Navarro will reprise his role as “Gagamboy” on its sequel.Gagamboy 2: Ang Pagbabalik is an upcoming science fiction movie topbilled by Vhong Navarro.The movie is going to be a joint venture between Regal and Viva Films.Gagamboy 2 will star Vhong Navarro, Aubrey Miles, Vice Ganda, Xyriel Anne Manabat, Zaijan Jaranilla, Angelica Panganiban, Rene Boy Facunla a.k.a. Ate Glow, Kathryn Bernardo, Albie Casiño, Julia Montes, Andi Eigenmann, Tricia Santos and Ivan Dorschner.

While it is obvious that there is actually redundancy in the list of newbie stars to debut in this film.Let me just state for the record that the list is actually tentative.Angelica Panganiban I believe is actually being eyed to be one of the cast if ever her movie with Vhong will “click”! Xyriel and Zaijan will become the eye candies of this film.I wonder what the lead stars of Mara Clara are doing here and so with Andi Eigenmann.If ever they’ll be in this movie they will probably steal the story so better not debut in this film.What? Tricia Santos? Don’t get me wrong but please – Is she still around? Ivan’s okay but if he’s there to just get paired up with Tricia then it would be better if he’s not going to be in the movie at all.
Gagamboy stars Aubrey Miles and Ate Glow and will reprise their respective roles.If Angelica will become part of this film, she might intervene with the romance of Junie(Vhong Navarro) and Liani(Aubrey Miles).From the last installment of Gagamboy, he stood up against and won over Ipisman (Jay Manalo).This time he’s going to face the evil yet witty villain portrayed by Vice Ganda (say, Gagambading?).Hahaha! 
The movie hasn’t got any director yet but it is slated to released in the second quarter of 2011.

What I actually liked on this film is its setting.The story is quite moving and humor was well delivered but for an action fantasy film to be setted in the slum areas of Metro Manila is unique.Some details on this blog post is not official but Regal and Viva has been hinting for a sequel to “Gagamboy”.(Take a glimpse on the poster above) Like what we have predicted this superhero movie might just be released in 3D!

@Will: Although I haven’t gotten the information directly from Regal Films this time like I most of the time do.I regularly visit celebrity profiles, imdb and even wikipedia for upcoming Filipino movies.As for this one, I got a scoop from a celeb profile.There’s actually a lot of Filipino movie projects that are slated to be released this year but I’m doubtful if most of them will push through.Even this one!
If ever there will be a sequel, I hope it will be a good one. With more advanced technology, I hope that Gagamboy 2 will be a lot better than the first one.
About the cast, I also don’t know about the Mara Clara cast, but I don’t mind seeing new faces, including Tricia Santos and Ivan Dorschner. People should have moved on by now from PBB.
i hope by this time gagamboy 2 would be a level up for filipino fantasy movie. and regarding with the cast, i think its all-interesting-cast. specially angelica panganiban with unquestionable acting prowess whether drama or comedy, andy the maraclara, momay, santino, vice ganda and trivan. dont know why the blogger hates tricia, but i find her nice and sweet.

I don’t hate tricia(at least not yet)..but with the tentative cast including the Mara Clara love team; and so as with the possible Vhong-Angelica-Aubrey love triangle I just didn’t like the fact that there’s going to be three romantic side stories in a fantasy film? Besides, was she able to prove her acting prowess?

That’s really not my point of not agreeing of Tricia’s possible existence in the movie.But if that she can prove her acting prowess and guard her mannerism then Why not?

We’re not talking about Ivan here. . .just because Tricia hasn’t proved her acting means that Ivan did.I mean, they’re part of a love team and if ever one of them will develop as an actor, although there is no assurance – the other one will most likely develop also.
Tricia is pretty, talented and smart.. nood ka ng Shoutout, magaling talga sya.. even sa hosting and on the spot na magbigay ng lines.. very smart.. Why you have to judge her.. If they will choose Tricia, it means they find a potential from her.. And Gagamboy is not just a movie.. It was a hit movie.. so hindi basta basta ang pumili ng casts nyan..

First my initial expression was because the inclusion of Tricia Santos in the movie will inevitably create another romantic side story..second, is she still around? I don’t get to see her on tv anymore.Lastly, I said Ivan was okay and I believe you have nothing against that don’t you? Now what did I meant with

Simple.The logic is actually inside a loop that goes obviously in circle, so I went back to the reason that this may create another romantic side story.
C’mon people, this is a fantasy movie if ever the “Vhong-Aubrey-Angelica”/”Albie-Julia-Kathryn”/”Tricia-Ivan” love teams will be in ONE movie then that’s going to create romantic side stories and romance might dominate the film.And if ever I’m wrong (in case the they will just do cameos and that no any side story will ruin the fantasy genre) then I believe they well deserve to be included in the movie.Yun lang!
People will certainly look at it the wrong way considering the words you used. If you want people to respect you and your blog. Be responsible enough with how you use the words.Give constructive criticism coz hindi lg ikaw ang makakabasa nito. This celebrity’s have their own fanbase na nasasaktan. And as what i’ve heard Tricia Santos has strong fanbase willing to fight for her. Obvious naman siguro sa number of text votes na nakukuha niya sa PBB dati. But anyways, hope you can resolve this issue with her fans.

I have might have something against her inclusion on the film but that’s because it will make holes in the story and will totally make the casting redundant given that the Mara Clara team is reported to be launched in the film.

I never said she doesn’t deserve to be part of the cast.And if you’ve only read the blog post carefully(say slowly), you would know that I wasn’t pointing at Tricia in the first place.It’s the inclusion of their love team to be precise.Ulitin ko lang, obviously magiging redundant ang casting if ever.
However, since ang daming nya atang fans – then, might as well “Hoy mga movie outfits out there!
